Ten years have passed since the dramatic actions of Martin Luther, and the battle between the new Protestant faction and the Catholics continues over doctrine. Meanwhile, the necromantic Cosma de Gubernatis leads the death cult Totentanz, which seems to want to invoke Death into the material world - to bring divine judgment and cleanse the earth of the unworthy.

After the destruction of the Black Rose lodge, the Roman Church has created the secret Order, with the mission of controlling dark magic and preventing evil magicians and powerful evocations from spreading chaos throughout the empire.

Requiem: Downfall of Magic is a cooperative map-based adventure game, where asymmetrical characters explore early 16th century Europe. Players make tactical decisions, explore territories and perform actions that affect the development of the game - which can lead to a specific final battle and different endings.

The gameplay experience is deepened by a chapter-based book system that develops the story and provides unique rules for each mission. The hexagon-shaped game boards contain both art and gameplay components, where players encounter enemies and resolve events that lead them deeper into the world of Requiem. Boss battles are special challenges with their own rules and maps for each encounter.
