Inspired by the book Hardwired by Walter Jon Williams, Mike Pondsmiths tried to replicate the raw realism of 80s science fiction, which ultimately resulted in the role-playing game Cyberpunk, a dark future world where the world's governments cower before the mega-corporations that now rule the world.
On the streets of Night City, the players, Edgerunners, are loaded with cybernetics and attitude in a fight for survival against all odds.
After existing as Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk 2020, this RPG is now back as Cyberpunk Red. This time the action takes place in 2045, between the classic games and the Cyberpunk 2077 computer game published by CD Project Red.
