There are two kinds of Railcars: blue-bordered Railcards stay in play until discarded, and take effect immediately; while green-bordered Railcars stay in play but have no effect until the owner decides to discard them during their turn. If a Railcar is taken, the other Railcars on the train slide up to cover the gap, and a new one is added to the end of the train.
As soon as the first Railcar behind the Locomotive goes past the last Station, the Locomotive card’s special effect triggers for all players. Then a new track of 5 Station tiles, as well as a new train, is built in the center of the table.
